Resurrection............

WOW! So I'm again and have resurrected my blog after three years of nothingness. There are some of reasons for this.

The first being I even have moved!! I now reside in Australia's style capital, Melbourne, and it has re-energized my passion for apparel and style.Secondly, I even have determined to qualify myself with a Diploma in Professional Fashion Styling with the Australian College of Professional Styling and sincerely loving it!

OK, now for what we are here for - fashion.

What I even have learned on the grounds that dwelling in Melbourne is that guys's fashion is an awful lot extra various and distinguished than what I noticed in Wellington. I experienced for the first time, attending Melbourne Cup and of course had to go all out. This intended spending an exorbitant sum of money on an Arthur Galan in shape entire with tailored shorts for the typically warm Melbourne summer season. Here are some shots of me and my "group" (me within the shorts)

As you can see, these weren't taken at the Birdcage, however it was an opportunity for me to showcase my own style. My suit was a popular conversational piece for many people who I could hear comment on amongst themselves as well as directly to me. How do I top that next time?

In addition to attending the Melbourne Cup, I even have attended a number of charity activities for the Victoria Cancer Council allowing me more opportunities to discover my inner "fashion formal".

So, what can you count on from this blog?

I intend to take quite a few what I am gaining knowledge of from my Styling course and document into you, the reader. Some will be insightful, some may additionally sincerely be factoids but essentially, the facts I provide could be exciting and style based.

I can also be blogging about some observations approximately city - as previously blogged, and giving you my Top Tens.

For the ones which are new to my blog, I hope you experience what I bring to you, and for people who have followed me right from the start, I hope you continue to find this weblog exciting and informative.

Please additionally skip on this hyperlink www.Stylemensfashion.Blogspot.Com too all your friends and every person you know. I'd additionally like to listen from you if you want personal styling recommendation. This is the final stop purpose of my studies - is to grow to be a freelance stylist on a full time basis. I'll even do it free of charge. (There is an expiration date in this :-) )

Signing off for now.

Sharp or Street

Do you have got a choice?

Whether you dress in a pointy fashion designer in shape or decide to head approximately town in avenue wear can rely upon both a desire and/or the circumstance or state of affairs. There are men who will simply always wear sharp clothing regardless of what the condition or mood, and the identical for guys who like to get dressed in avenue wear.

Street Wear

Street wear is a fashion that has merely come about by means of what humans are sporting on the streets. Generally it's road bloggers that push the tendencies, by means of randomly taking pix of people sporting something in their own style and running a blog about it. Street put on or kinds of it have simply been round for years, however with the increase of fashion bloggers and of route celebrities like Justin Beiber Street Wear has become more of a now fashion. Street Wear consists of ordinary wear consisting of a shirt, some jeans shorts paired with possibly some chucks, a beanie or caps.

There are many different gadgets that convey a avenue wear look collectively. Below is a mood board I even have put together, care of Polyvore.Com showcasing some of my favored pieces of road put on.

Sharp Wear

The subsequent fashion I like to name Sharp Wear. It's a style or trend that does not necessarily have to fee a bomb. Sharp put on is a look that encompass suits satisfactory showcased through designers. Again types of it have been round for years. A sharp look can come in many special portions from jackets or coats, to fits, or shirts, but, the secret is within the form of the garb, and in some cases the color or pattern. Have a look around your work place a while at all of the guys sporting fits or work put on and see if you could spot the difference between a guy who looks sharp and someone who simply seems like they're sporting a blah sick fitting match with a shirt. The term for it was once "White collar" because it turned into actually that. Perhaps it nevertheless is called that.

Mixing and matching contrasts of colors and styles with ties and shirts is a outstanding way to drag off a pointy appearance. A narrow suit fit perhaps with a mild tartan sample is every other a extraordinary manner.

Below is any other temper board I put together showcasing some of my favorite pieces of sharp put on and of course the designers who created them.

Which is your favorite?

Orange is the new Black

Although there have been some of warm colorations proven inside the Fall 2013/14 collections this year, orange appear to me to stand out the most. Mainly because it's now not a dominant color commonly resonating with guys's clothing. It's one of these colors that appears incredibly taboo to put on. A bit like purple become some years in the past.

Above are a few ideas I have put together  in order to be Autumn 2014 ready.

Summer Trends 2013

Currently it's all about prints; floral, washed out, stone wash, denim and tie dye this summer.  Prints are everywhere from short sleeve shirts to casual and tailored shorts to (dare I say it) pants.

Neon colorings are also warm this summer - pinks, oranges, veggies and blues.

Below are some ideas on your summer time dresser based on one of my favored colours - Blue.

Enjoy.

Spotlight on........

Ashton Michael.

I found Ashton Michael even as watching ANTM cycle 20 which featured their clothing and the genius at the back of this garb.

Ashton Michael collections are futuristic, edgy but relatively rebellious designs that play with difficult and smooth textures and layered finishes. You will often see Ashton Michael designs in black and white with an androgynous street sense approximately them.

So who is the clothier in the back of this label?

That might be Ashton Hirota. Hirota who grew up in Los Angeles, debuted as a designer while he was19 years old with designs first being bought in NYC and Tokyo.

Today, Ashton Hirota customs designs for celebrities including will.I.Am, Chris Brown and R Kelly below his label Ashton Michael.

Ashton Michael's modern-day series for SS '14 is referred to as Ashton Michael - Black Crossed.

The brand's official website http://ashtonmichael.com will soon feature a shop section, however you can purchase Ashton Michael now at farfetch.com.  You can also follow the label on twitter at @AshtonMichaelLA

Styling my NYE.....

New Years is a time when you have an excuse to dress up, whether it's in theme or on fashion, because it's about champagne, cocktails, canap?S and fireworks and that means glamming or trending all of it out. Some may also even say pimping it up.

Traditionally, NYE has been my excuse to move head to toe in all white, (P Diddy style) however this 12 months I want to be extraordinary and I'm taking into consideration trying something very distinctive.

I'm heading to a ticketed NYE celebration in Melbourne this year and the theme is H2O. That's all excellent and right however when I look at what the get dressed code is, it states "Smart Casual".................

Wait Whhhaaaattt? WTF is smart informal and why are you making use of it to a NYE birthday party? Then a mild bulb is going on in my head. I can kill three birds with 1 stone. ( yes I are aware of it's 2).

1. I can pick my own theme,

2. It may be "Smart Casual", and

three. It's presently on fashion.

Oh hold on........There's genuinely a fourth fowl...

Four. I get to move purchasing for new clothes.

Shut the the front gate! You are saying.

So anyway, I'm currently digging the geeky chic trend  and wondering whether I can pull it off. Wait, I'm not wondering, I know I can! (He says with a nervous conviction).

So sure, this 12 months, I will be announcing goodbye to 2013 sporting warm specs, a smoking hot fedora hat, a bow tie and a waist coat all inside the call of "Smart Casual".

Below I actually have put together a few inspirational ideas that will help you or a person you recognize along with your geeky however chiccy appearance.

Seasons Greetings to you all.

Where in Melbourne

I notion I would start 2014 by sharing with you my pinnacle list of awesome locations to shop for guys's style in Melbourne.

Chadstone Shopping Mall.

Probably one of the most well known shopping malls in the Melbourne area. Chadstone is considered a super regional shopping centre located in the inner suburbs of Melbourne (Melvin). It is just a mall, however if you like variety then this place has it. It boasts 2 levels of over 530 stores including menswear stores such as Arthur Galan AG, Aramani Exchange, Bossini, Tarot Cash and much more. There are no outlet stores situated here so this means that standard retail prices will apply. Be prepared to pay up to $60 for a belt or $299 for a jacket or coat.

Bourke Street Mall.

A vibrant busy a part of Melbourne, Bourke Street Mall or Bourke Mall as the locals like to call it is located in the coronary heart of Melbournes CBD. Think city square however with trams passing via, Bourke Mall consists of many shops that line the "walk and tram most effective area" which includes Myer, David Jones, Zara, Steve Madden, Roger David and plenty of extra. You can frequently find a bargain all through Myers mid year sales.

GPO Melbourne.

GPO stands for General Post Office. Located on the corner of Bourke Street and Elizabeth Street, GPO consists of some high end boutique stores catering for both women and men including Ben Sherman, Arthur Galan AG and Rhodes & Beckett. H&M will soon be opening here so it's definitely worth a look.

http://www.melbournesgpo.com

Chapel Street Precinct.

Chapel St is located in South Yarra, on the city fringe of Melbourne. It's a long street bustling with Restarurants, cafés and of course clothing stores. It's has both high and mid range priced stores including Jack London, Men's Outfitter and Saba to name a few. You won't really find bargains here, what you will find are stores full of trends style and sophistication.

http://www.chapelstreet.com.au

Bridge Road.

One of my favourite areas to shop, Bridge Road is also located on the city fringe, in Richmond. It's an historical part of Melbourne with some old buildings. It's one of my favourite areas because not only does it cater very well for men, it consists of many outlet stores that you will be sure to find a bargain at. The long double sided street is lined with stores, cafés and bars that will have you pacing up one side and down the other for hours. Some of my favourite stores include Men's Club Australia, Batsanis,  ID Men and CFM. If you're looking for a tailored suit or shirt, or some Italian shoes, you will definitely find one here at a great price.

http://www.bridgerd.com.au

Melbourne Central.

In the heart of the CBD is Melbourne Central which is linked to an actual train station, and has been transformed into a beautiful 3/4 level brick and glass building. Here you will find great stores such as Saba, Oxford and Marc's. Be sure to take your credit card with you as these stores aren't cheap.

http://www.melbournecentral.com.au

DFO Southwharf.

My final recommendation is DFO Southwharf. It stands for Direct Factory Outlet and is located along the Yarra River in the southern part of the city. This is where you will find the best bargains and will likely want to spend most of your shopping time and money. You will find stores with discounts up to 70%. As well sports stores such as Adidas, Fila and Nike, there are stores such as Aramani Exchange, Clavin Klein, Factory, Industry, Marc's and many more that cater well for men at factory prices.

http://www.dfo.com.au/southwharf/

So that concludes some of my favourite places to shop around Melbourne. There are some places that I haven't mentioned that are still good, and it just goes to show what a fantastic place Melbourne is from a fashion perspective.

I hope you found the list above helpful.

What's hot in 2014

Tartan

Born from UK road fashion, Tartan is the latest trend for men in 2014, not handiest in road put on however it's making it's outstanding look in sharply fit put on and high fashion. Tartan or Check, however you could desire to consult it as - is on trend!

The Under Cut:

The latest trend in men's hairstyle, The Undercut. Evolving from the previous hair trend examples such as the pompadour, or gadsby, the introduction of the undercut adds a slightly more tidier, sophisticated and of course sharp look. Other contributions to this hair trend is the fade and dare I say the Man Bun

Colin Farrell wears the undercut and guy bun

Loafers

This trend is now not reserved for satin gown wearing, cigar smoking rich old dudes. Wearing sockless loafers is the should do in 2014. The loafers may be worn dressed up with a clever sharp in shape or dressed down with a pair of chinos or shorts. The brighter the loafer the trendier the appearance. Get your pair these days!

Short Suits

Although I'm sure Arthur Galan designed a great designer short suit in 2012 ( yes I bought it and worked it out at the 2012 Melbourne cup Spring carnival) this appears to be a new trend for 2014. Who'd a thunk? Sic

Perhaps Australia or Melbourne was ahead if it is time. Can you be too style forward? In any case, I'll be bringing my AG tartan short match out this summer time for certain.

Proof I wore brief suits and tartan in 2012..........Wait........AND LOAFERS!!!

Top 10 Rules for being sharply suited

I examine a piece of writing some months in the past approximately the unstated healthy rules each guy must recognise. So that they do not continue to be unstated, I thought it might be useful to bring you my personal pinnacle 10 of those guidelines.

Employing those top 10 guidelines will help you to remain sharp, sophisticated and down right contemporary whilst wearing fits.

10:

When shopping for a in shape off-the-rack, the most critical thing is to make sure that the shoulders healthy. Ill fitting healthy jackets that sag beneath the pinnacle line of the shoulder isn't going to look fantastic nor sharp. Shoulders are the hardest to tailor, so mark certain they don't stick out or stick up.

The gap among the collar of your shirt and the jacket's lapels is a giveaway that you have an unwell-becoming jacket.

9. Charcoal or Grey fits are extra sharp than black. This is due to the fact greys and charcoals are more flexible and will look higher with more hues. Not all guys healthy black either.

8. When sporting a three piece healthy or simply the waist coat with trousers, hold the bottom button of your waist coat unbuttoned. This affords a slightly more sharper look and match and forestalls bunching at the lowest.

7. Cuffs should be showing at least half an inch from the jacket sleeve. Not only will this show off your  masculine jewellery you have such as cufflinks and watches, it provides a more balanced look by matching the amount of collar visible at the back of the neck.

6. Make positive your tie is darker than your dress shirt. This permits a balanced contrast and draws the eye inside the V form on the centre of your chest giving a slimmer sharper look.

Five. The hem of your trouser ought to contact proper at the top of your shoe. This affords a style ahead, sharp appearance. If you are seeking out a greater conservative appearance, the trouser hem ought to cover the top of the shoe and parts of the laces.

For a more fashion-forward look, the pant hem should hit right at the top of your shoe. Source - gq.Com

4. For a conventional or vintage appearance, wear an identical waist coat and trouser with a slimmer tie. A brown tweet choice might offer even more of a vintage look.

three. Always go for a conventional windsor knot on your tie. Use the scale of your head to determine whether or not you need to move 1/2 or complete windsor.

Always go with the classic windsor knot for your tie, but use the size of your head to determine whether you should go half or full windsor. Source - feeldesain.Com

2. Matching the right colored footwear together with your in shape presents a pointy and complicated look. This consists of being the equal coloration as your belt. A easy manual for matching shoes and fits is printed under.

You should match your shoes to the color of your suit using this guide: Source - putthison.Com

1. For a specifically modern-day sharp look, pick a slender in shape match. Make certain that the returned of the healthy jacket has a double vent flap.

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Runway One - Dom Bagnato

Romanticism was the subject matter for the night and the sharp sophistication of tartan shades of blues, greys and colorings of coral and purple had been what stood out inside the runway collection for Dom Bagnato. It became MSFW Runway 1 on Tuesday and they were 5th at the listing of designers performing at the catwalk, but it's what drew my anticipation the maximum, and it failed to fail to deliver.

The fashion and class of this collection makes me want to buy each unmarried piece on offer.

But what simply makes this logo extremely good? It could should be the designers themselves. Dom Bagnato and his son Nunzio convey classic Italian tailoring and style to menswear. The logo has earnt numerous accolades in style and going via these appears that went down the runway, you can see why.

They have taken the very on fashion blue and gray healthy and amped it up with a subtle and softer colour pallette for spring. Of route at the same time as continuing to deliver you black and white formal put on as well.

I'm excited to observe this label and find out wherein to subsequent.

Men's Runway at MBFWA - Starring Lupe Fiasco

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia has come to an stop and it produced a surprising runway at the very last day whilst Lupe Fiasco modelled for Australian label Song for the Mute. Disappointingly this became the most effective pure men's runway displaying which may also give an explanation for why it was a complete house and loaded with celebrities within the front row such as Guy Sebastian.

Local designers Lyna Ty and Melvin Tanaya showcased their street style collection as part of the Harrolds Boutique show with Lupe their star model. Lupe Fiasco closed the show wearing a signature cocoon coat in pressed, waxed mohair.

Lupe has been buddies with the designers for a few years now and often wears their designs. It appears he jumped on the chance to head to Australian Fashion week while requested to version of their collection.

Spotlight on V and J Menswear in Melbourne

These are terms which have historically been reserved for the wealthy, distringuished type. Well times have changed. If you follow any type of menswear on social media, you may see advertisements for bespoke, custom tailor made designers such as V and J Menswear. This personal style suitmaking has made a come back. You won't  find suit makers like V and J Menswear in fashion malls, or on any golden mile. They are usually tucked away and hidden down laneways of Melbourne or modestly set up on a higher level of an old building through out the city.

V and J menswear are no different. Hidden on level 3 of Carlow House on Flinders Lane  in Melbourne, V and J Menswear rely mainly on word of mouth and repeat business resulting from their very professional and personlised friendly service. And they have been fairly successful with this model.

I first met Carl and Rick - owners and architects of V and J Menswear when I became looking for menswear garments to pull for a image shoot. Not only did I locate the men very welcoming and obliging, but watching them paintings with customers, you get a sense of a love for what they do - especially the head to head client side of their jobs. It seemed as even though clients did now not want to leave the vicinity and could sit down there for hours chatting away with the men. And in case you did desire to do this, you would be offered a pitcher of scotch or a picolo espresso.

Whether it's shopping for garments off the rack, being measured up for a custom made match or even locating a match in their shop which they'll modify to fit your needs flawlessly V and J Menswear are, for my part, the epitome of carrier.

V and J Menswear let you with formal put on on your wedding ceremony, Melbourne Spring racing, or if you are simply searching out a smart casual but sharp look, V and J Menswear have them. You will definately depart the store feeling very pleased along with your revel in.
